Founded in 1926 as the National Window Glass Association (NWGA), WDMA is one of the oldest trade associations in the United States. The organization's mission is to advocate for its member companies' interests in all aspects of public policy related to their businesses

WDMA members represent all segments of the window/door industry including: manufacturers; distributors; fabricators; installers; retailers; contractors; architects/designers; building owners & managers; manufacturers' reps, sales agents, brokers & agents; material suppliers; consultants & educators; environmental product stewardship groups; government agencies & associations

The association has over 100 member companies which include all 50 states of the United States as well as Canada

The Window & Door Manufacturers Association is led by a Board of Directors comprised of industry leaders who meet quarterly to discuss issues affecting their companies and the industry. In addition, we have several committees focused on specific areas of interest such as marketing, technology and manufacturing

The WDMA provides a number of services and programs to its members, including:

Development of industry standards, codes, and specifications

Government Affairs program that represents its membership before Congress and federal agencies on legislative issues affecting the industry

Technical assistance to member companies on product development, marketing strategies, sales techniques, labor issues and more

News releases and other communications vehicles to keep members informed about industry development

WDMA's objectives are to maintain high standards for the window and door industry, promote orderly growth in the marketplace, encourage greater acceptance of its products, and provide information to members, consumers and others on trends affecting the window and door industry
